Layout Share!

Hello y'all!

I hope you had a really Happy Christmas Day! This week have been very fun and crafty for me. Today I want to share a sketch from a website completely new to me, Scrap Friends. They have a monthly sketch challenge open internationally. Their sketches are unique and completely different, I really like to use them to create. The sketch for this month is this one:

I used the idea of a diagonal line in the sketch to create the background of my page but just using a single paper. Instead of using 2 photos, I just used one small rectangular photo. For this layout, most of the products used were from the Studio Calico 34th Street Kit.

I LOVE the soft tones in this month kit. They are really girly, whimsical and playful.

Here is my layout:

What I did was cut a 12 x 12 paper in half diagonally, then I cut a strip of paper diagonally too, so it can fit with the big piece of paper. I added a couple of layers of paper behind the picture to create depth and texture in the page. For embellishment I add vellum arrows, wood veneers, doily, enamel dots and a & flair badge in the title. I left the title and the placement of the embellishments in the same spots as to keep with the sketch design.

I hope you like it and have a great day!

Joy Card!

Hi!!

I have been in a card mode these days and I want to share a card that I made for SC Sunday Sketch Challenge. I want to take the most of my Crate Paper Sleigh Ride 6 x 6 paper pad not only because I really love the colors in this collection but because this is a great way to stretch your supplies, using the same products but in different ways. The sketch looks like this:

I just took the sketch and flip it vertically instead of horizontal. Then I added a background paper to the card base, some pattern paper banners, the sentiment and instead of using stars, I used SC Snowflakes Wood Veneers. Here is how my card looks like:

For my 'JOY' sentiment, I used one of the Flair badges from the Santa Flair Set available in the shop. I really had fun making a card again! I'm even more happy because I was selected randomly for this week, so I won a $5.00 SC gift card.

I hope you enjoy it, and hope this gave you an idea on how to use your badges!

Merry Christmas Card

Hola!

Today I wanted to do something a little bit different so I decide to share with you a card. I usually don't make cards but is always good to have a couple handy for Christmas time. Kristina Werner has a video series of Holiday Cards and a couple of days ago she did three gift card holder cards which I like a lot.

Taking the same design in mind I did my own card holder card too and this is my take:

This card is 6" x 7" and scored at 1" and then at 3 1/4". I used the AC Pow Glitter paper (that came in my Studio Calico kit) in the front part and the 6 x 6 Crate Paper Sleigh Ride paper pad. I folded the 1" side of the card and attached 2 tiny brads to make the pocket.

It's a super easy card to make and just a few supplies needed.

Enjoy it and have a great day :)

Studio Calico Sunday Sketch Challenge

Hello!

It is a rainy day today, here in Jacksonville FL and I'm off work, so I decided to make a layout for the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch challenge that they have over their blog. I like to work with sketches because they are a really good inspiration tool when I am out of it. Also, when I use a sketch I try to take the most of it by simply making a couple of layouts but changing the perspective of the sketch in each one.

Here is the Sunday Sketch for this week:

And here is my take of it:

This layout is from a trip that my hubby and I did a couple of months ago to Daytona, FL. We were eating in a restaurant and I caught the really beautiful sunset that was behind us.

Head over the Studio Calico blog and play along for the chance to win $5.00 gift card!

Thanks for Looking and happy scrapping!

Creative Scrappers Blog Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Hope you are doing well.... I apologize for been MIA lately but today, I want to share with you a layout that I created to participate in the sketch challenge that is running over Creative Scrappers Blog. Their Design Team and their weekly sketches are amazing and I always take a look for inspiration from their work. To participate all you need to do is create a layout using sketches #229, #230, #231 or #232 and upload it to their blog. Due date for this challenge is November 1st and you can win a prize from Freckled Fawn products.

Here is the layout that I created for this challenge, using the sketch #230:

For this project is used A Boy's Life collection from Echo Park Paper, except for the red paper that comes from American Crafts Shoreline Collection. A while ago, I took this picture of my son in a airplane exhibition and I thought immediately in this collection. The papers are full of colors, great for any theme. I created the paint splatters using my watercolor palette and I also incorporate some wood veneers, specially the circled one to drive the attention to my son in the photo.

Is a very simple page but I like the way it turns out. Well I hope you enjoy it and take the chance to participate in the challege. Good Luck!!

Thanks for Looking ;)

Hello Everyone!!

How are you all? Well, today I'm going to share with you a layout, some new flair and a new card kit. I made this layout using Central High,  SC Kit and some other bits from of the other kits. I used as inspiration a layout from the SC gallery created by Adrienne Alvis, I really love her style and how she perfectly layer papers and embellishments together:

Img_2207

I printed two instagram photos from my phone in 3 x 3 size. Because my photos had very soft tones, I keep the same soft tones on my layout. For my background I used the B side of SC Horizontal thick stripes pattern paper with a kraft cardstock and the grid paper from the Amy Tan Coffee Break paper on the Roller Rink Kit. This two photos are of my mom and my lovely daughter at our local Chuck E. Cheese. This was a really fun day where everyone was a child, including my mom. For my journaling I used the small envelope that came in Central High Kit. This is the result:

Flair Badge from my Pastels collection, available at my store

Now, here is some new Flair Badges and two kits that you can find at my store:
