Hi Y'all!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to eat to a local buffet restaurant in our area and I took these instagram photos of our kids enjoying fruit cover in chocolate from the chocolate fountain. They love it! Well, this month, the Studio Calico kit came up very colorful and of course, I use it to make a page with those photos.

For this page, I use one of the Basicgrey paper as a background. To create the layers of papers, I used the green Echo Park Paper, a piece of an opened glassine bag, some tickets, doilies, a negative die cut of an arrow and a (Sunday) tab using the stamp set in the kit.

I want to get more out of my kits each month, but I know that I have to plan better how I will make my pages and projects to achieve this goal ;).

Create pages is very fun, entertaining and can be more easy these days with all kinds of kits that make this hobby a little less stressful or challenging for us.

I hope you like it and stay tune for news about my store and more!

Kinder Graduation

Hi everyone!!

I wanted to use the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Collection for a while and I decide to use it to create a cover page with a photo of my daughter Kindergarten Celebration. She was wearing a very bright pink dress that matches with the colors in the collection.

I cut the borders of the flower in the background paper to put it over the matted photo. I don't have a Silhouette Machine, so I printed out a "K" over a scrap piece of the Studio Calico Locals 12 x 12 paper and then I cut it with a craft knife. In a white piece of paper I create a Ombre effect using my watercolor palette and then, I put the paper with the "K" on top of it. I used the watercolors to paint the doily too (is a cheaper way to add color to doilies, wood veneers and other embellishments).

Finally, I just added a little bits and pieces of embellishments to the page. I find that my style is a little bit simple, I don't like to pile all the entire collection in just one page. I rather let the photo be the star although, I does not mean that some times you will see me trying other styles of design.

Well I would like to hear which is your favorite technique?
Thanks

My Very First Post!!!

Sunday, September 9, 2012

Hi everyone! I am very excited to start blogging and sharing things with people who have the same passion for paper,  photography and crafts in general. I post my layouts on Studio Calico and Two Peas in a Bucket respective Galleries. Actually, I am a subscriber to the Studio Calico Monthly Kit.

As a scrapbooker, I want to capture those little moments in my life that mean a lot for me. And, for a good start, I want to share with you a layout of my little son playing with very colorful 'Duplo' blocks. This picture is a little bit older, but I thought that this kit goes well with the colors on it. I used for this page the Summer of '69 Studio Calico Kit.I did a little bit of layers, I used wood veneers and other different stickers where added to the page.

So that's it for me today. Hope you have a good start of the week!!
